The Research Centre on Education (CIEd) is a research unit of the Institute of Education at the University of Minho, dedicated to the development of scientific knowledge in the field of Education. Within the SMART Education Ecosystem, CIEd provides the scientific framework of the project, ensuring methodological rigor, theoretical grounding, and academic impact, while fostering the articulation between research, training, and educational practice.
Vila do Conde City Council
The Vila do Conde City Council plays a strategic role in promoting educational innovation within the municipality, supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening schools, enhancing teacher professional development, and improving learning conditions for students.
In the context of the SMART Education Ecosystem, the municipality acts as a key partner in bridging academic research and real-world implementation, creating the conditions for the project to be developed in close collaboration with local schools and educational stakeholders.
Training Centre of the School Association of Póvoa de Varzim and Vila do Conde (CFAEPVVC)
The CFAEPVVC plays a central role in the continuous professional development of teachers in the municipalities of Póvoa de Varzim and Vila do Conde. It promotes training initiatives focused on pedagogical innovation, scientific updating, and the strengthening of professional competences.
Within the SMART Education Ecosystem, the CFAEPVVC serves as a strategic partner in the implementation and dissemination of the project among associated schools, ensuring the articulation between academic research, accredited training, and classroom practice.
Afonso Sanches School Cluster (AEDAS)
The D. Afonso Sanches School Cluster, located in the municipality of Vila do Conde, plays a key role in the implementation of the SMART Education Ecosystem in a real school context. Although the project is designed to be transversal to all schools in the municipality, AEDAS has made available a dedicated physical space that enables the structured implementation of the ecosystem, serving as a setting for pedagogical experimentation and professional development.
This collaboration allows for a close articulation between research, teacher training, and classroom practice, creating concrete conditions to operationalise the systemic vision of the project and to promote sustainable transformation of educational practices.
BCN – Technology and Innovation Partner
BCN is a technology company specialized in digital solutions and innovation for educational environments. With experience in the implementation of technological infrastructures and immersive learning environments, BCN supports schools in integrating digital resources in a structured and pedagogically aligned manner.
Within the SMART Education Ecosystem, BCN acts as a strategic technology partner, contributing to the materialization of the project’s vision through the provision of technological support, technical expertise, and the development of innovative learning environments. This collaboration strengthens the articulation between pedagogical intention and technological implementation.
