PhD candidate in Educational Sciences, specializing in Educational Technology at the Institute of Education of the University of Minho, where he serves as a researcher at the Centre for Research in Education (CIEd). He is an Invited Assistant Professor in higher education and a pedagogical consultant, working in the fields of curricular innovation, active methodologies, and the critical integration of technology in educational contexts.
His research focuses on the development of the SMART Education Ecosystem (SEE), an ecological and systemic model that articulates space, technology, pedagogy, and teaching, integrating approaches such as Generative Artificial Intelligence, Educational Robotics, Augmented Reality, Immersive Virtual Reality, and Interactive Virtual Learning Environments. His work seeks to promote intelligent, sustainable, and human-centred learning scenarios applicable across different educational levels and institutional contexts.
He holds a Master’s degree in Teaching for the 1st and 2nd Cycles of Basic Education, with a dissertation dedicated to the integration of mobile applications in classroom settings. He has an established trajectory in both initial and continuing teacher education, being an accredited trainer by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Continuing Education (CCPFC) and a board member of the National Association of Teachers. Throughout his career, he has delivered dozens of training courses and participated in national and international projects, including Erasmus+ initiatives.
Author of scientific articles, book chapters, and presentations at international conferences, among his publications stands out the chapter “An Intelligent Ecosystem for Teaching Mathematics: The SMART Education Ecosystem framework” (2025), which conceptually grounds the SEE model and its implementation in real educational settings.
With more than two decades of educational experience, he positions himself as a researcher and educator committed to transforming pedagogical practices, advocating for a technologically enriched, pedagogically grounded education oriented towards teachers’ professional development and students’ holistic formation.
